This internship offers first-hand experience with the administration and management of a large family history collection with local history resources, city directories, and genealogical materials. This internship will also include the digitization and description of primary sources from the Archives of Michigan’s collections. This work will include project management, metadata creation, cataloging, and scanning on a variety of equipment. This intern will work closely with the Archives of Michigan’s Services and Collections teams and engage with staff across the Michigan History Center. This intern will have opportunities to learn about state archives, government records, city and county resources, family history research, and use of primary sources in K-12 education. This position is based at the Archives of Michigan in Lansing, Michigan.
